Discovering New York: East River Trip

Hello Everyone!

Today I’ll talk about something different. I’ll talk about something really private: my personal adventure in New York City. Live in New York, see its lights and colors, breath its special air and walk in its street is a sort of dream for a lot of people (me included). I made that dream true for the first time in 2011 during an awesome vacation. After that… simply I desired to come back in New York as soon as possible! I read on socials and blogs that almost 90% of people who visited New York had my same reaction! I think is absolutely true that the Big Apple steal the heart, and it does that because is one of the few city which give itself completely, but at the same time, take a lot from you…

From few months ago, I’m living in New York City (I admit I’m a really lucky person!), and I’m exploring every single square feet of this incredible city. I started with the most popular attractions, and now I’m looking for new beautiful and uncommon views.

With this post, I decided to share with you a little piece of my life and some adventure in the city that never sleeps.

The idea of this post is to share a little bit of New York with different target of people: first of all with people that can’t visit it for different reasons (like my mum, she has an incredible airplane afraid and because of this she never see cities so far from Italy); at second stage with people who planning to visit New York City, to suggest different and less common attractions (maybe some cheaper alternative of the travel guide’s proposals); at last, but not least, wake up some remember in all the people who had already visited the Big Apple.

For all Newyorkers who are reading this post, please leave some suggestions for future trips in the comment box below! And I hope you like my personal gift to your awesome city.

Sunset in East River

I’m probably a “photo addicted”, I really like to take a bunch of pictures of almost everything, even if I haven’t professional camera (yet). And my favorite subject is the sunset, for this reason some days ago I though that could be really cool shooting a sunset behind the Manhattan Skyline. One of the best place to do that is Brooklyn, so I had to go there! I’m strongly sure that the best part of a journey is the path we decide to walk through, and because of this I moved to Brooklyn with a Ferry Boat instead a Subway!

This was my roundtrip

Roundtrip

Price of East River Ferry Boat $ 4.00 ($ 6.00 in weekend day), Subway’s single ride  $ 2.75

Some clarification: I’m really sorry for the quality of the recorded images, I’m a beginner in videos and I mess to set the correct set ups on camera.

This is the video of my journey! Enjoy

During this adventure I take the picture below:

Fall in Brooklyn

I’m really proud for this picture! I shooted it without particular set ups, with my mobile phone, to send it to my Italian friend and it became “famous”! I posted this picture on my Instagram profile like usual (aly_nopanic Fall in NYC) and NBC NEW YORK chosen and added it in the following album Amazing Autumn: Your Fabulous Fall Photos.

I really don’t know if this post could be useful to someone, and I hope you like it.
